Treat Failed Search as a Product Signal
Empty help-center results are a backlog, not a footnote in the analytics export.
People who search and find nothing often still open a ticket—or leave quietly. Either way, failed search is one of the cleanest leading indicators for deflection work.
Cluster failed queries weekly, map them to your contact-reason tree, and ask whether the fix is an article, a clearer nav label, or a product change that removes the question.
Teams that only watch closed-ticket CSAT miss the people who never reached an agent because the search bar failed first.
